Business owners and managers who want to learn about new tax credits, rebates and getting started on planning for future energy savings are invited to view CUB’s 2024 Small Business Webinar.
CUB’s fall educational webinar series started with a Sept. 4 webinar, “Programs & Tools for Small Business Energy Management: Tax Credits, IRA and more!”
You can see a replay of that webinar below, or on the CUB YouTube channel here.
The webinar is the first of two this month highlighting new ways to save enabled by the Inflation Reduction Act. Our residential webinar occurred on Sept. 18.
The Small Business webinar featured jam-packed presentations from:
Korinne Haeffel, director of market transformation and development at U.S. Green Building Council, focused on Empowering Efficiency. She unpacked easy steps for building owners and operations managers to make their operations more efficient. She also covered tools that can help a manager benchmark their buildings energy use, such as the EPA’s Portfolio Manager and the USGBC’s Arc program. Korinne also provided a lot of Wisconsin specific resources for building owners and managers.
Mark Bender, attorney at Godfrey & Kahn, S.C., discussed Tax Credits and Grants available via the Inflation Reduction Act. He encouraged interested small businesses to carefully plan out their projects and figure out what they need to move it forward. Evaluating the skills of the team you have in place and the additional expertise required will help determine the value of the project in the short, middle, and long term.
Maria Redmond, director for the Wisconsin Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy, focused on Programs to Support Small Business. One on one conversations are encouraged to get folks headed in the right direction utilizing connections with the right people to help get their project off the ground.
