Public input is being sought to help Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy program establish a new incentive program for home energy saving rebates tied to the Inflation Reduction Act.
Wisconsin has been allocated $149 million in rebates, thanks to the IRA. These rebates cover both a home energy efficiency rebate program as well as an instant discount program for efficient electrical appliances as well as home upgrades.
The two programs are expected to be created later this year.
During a series of meetings around the state, Focus on Energy representatives will present an overview of the program and then solicit feedback from Wisconsinites. The goal: To create the best programs possible that are simple to comprehend and that make it easy for interested customers to participate.
Meetings are planned starting Tuesday, Jan. 23 in Green Bay and continuing in Milwaukee, Madison, Viroqua and Ashland. There will be two virtual sessions on Feb. 8 and Feb. 26. Customers can also participate by submitting responses to questions in an online survey. That survey can be found here.
Registration is requested, but not required, for the in-person and virtual sessions; walk-ins are welcome. Here are the details:
