Your Citizens Utility Board is tallying up savings and a whole lot more.

CUB’s 2023 Impact Report details the work by our team to save money for utility customers, and share our insights and expertise as thought leaders on making the energy transition affordable and accessible for all.

The second annual impact report provides snapshots on what CUB is doing to bring better energy policy to Wisconsin, to pare back and thwart utility price increases and to underscore for all who will listen that affordability is job one in Wisconsin.

This year’s Impact Report takes a look inside who we are and how we do our work on behalf of homeowners, renters and small businesses across the state.

CUB, now in its 45th year, has been working for savings since the beginning, including $175 million last year and $1.2 billion in savings in just the past 10 years.

Beyond the bottom line, we’re working for cost-effective policies that provide fair outcomes for residential and small business customers as well as programs for those struggling the most with their utility bills.

And we’re determined to work through outreach and education to invite more people in Wisconsin to participate in energy democracy, to have more people raise their voice for fairness and affordability.

  • Our outreach and education efforts now include the CUB Tracks podcast and webinars.
  • CUB is actively involved in policy collaboration in state, regional and national forums.
  • Our talented staff experts are called upon to provide training in Wisconsin and around the country.

This year, CUB’s team is busy working on rate cases involving We Energies and WPS. The two utilities are collectively looking to raise prices by more than $800 million over the next two years.

Invite CUB to speak to your group! We want to come to you to talk about what’s going on with your utility, our vision for a more affordable energy future, and insights on ways you can save on energy bills. Please check out the topic list on Page 3 of the Impact Report and invite CUB Executive Director Tom Content to speak to your group, either in person or virtually. Looking forward to seeing you!
