This year marks an incredible milestone for the Citizens Utility Board of Wisconsin as we celebrate 45 years of standing up for fair and affordable utility rates. Since our founding in 1979, CUB has been the state’s only nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to representing the interests of residential and small business utility customers. From electric and natural gas rates to water utilities, we’ve been at the forefront of consumer protection, ensuring that utility companies remain accountable and transparent.
Over these four-and-a-half decades, CUB has achieved remarkable victories, saving Wisconsin customers more than $3.6 billion in unfair charges. These efforts wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our members—individuals just like you who believe in the importance of affordable and reliable utility services for everyone. CUB continues to be a trusted, independent voice in utility regulation, actively participating in rate cases, policy discussions, and energy reforms to protect consumers from unnecessary cost increases and inequitable policies.
Please help us celebrate our anniversary by joining us for an event on Tuesday, December 3rd! Register Here.
To commemorate this special occasion, we’re calling on our community to help us strengthen our impact. As part of our 45th anniversary, we’re aiming to welcome 45 new members, each contributing $45 to support our continued advocacy. By becoming a member, you’ll be joining a movement dedicated to keeping utility costs fair and ensuring that everyone in Wisconsin can afford essential services.
This donation will directly support CUB’s efforts to:
- Challenge unjustified rate increases proposed by utilities
- Promote affordable energy solutions for Wisconsin
- Advocate for consumer-friendly utility policies
Whether you’ve been following our work for years or are just learning about CUB, now is the perfect time to get involved. Your support will help us continue making a difference in the lives of millions of utility customers.
