WPR reports that a $1.4 billion transmission line project is being proposed to serve a massive data center in Port Washington—one that could consume as much electricity as a mid-size city. CUB Executive Director Tom Content notes that the cost would be passed on to utility customers across eastern Wisconsin. With no public vote and growing community opposition, this project raises serious concerns about fairness, transparency, and long-term affordability for ratepayers.
